Embarking: On Volunteerism

Embarking Design is in the process of developing a new aspect of the site. If you cast your net over to UsefulChange you can try out a very early incarnation of it.

What I hope to do is provide a web presence for some of those good-hearted souls who spend all of their spare time and money trying to make a difference in their community. Many of these enterprises do not have web sites at all and are being cut off from a potential source of fund raising and volunteers to help make their organization more efficient and self-sufficient.

School would be more fun without that Palm

I first heard this news shortly after I got I Palm Zire 72 myself. I'm way past the Grade 4 to 8 age group both in years and (probably) in general tech savviness, but I hope they had more luck setting up their bluetooth cliques than I did. I couldn't even get my PowerBook to acknowledge that my Palm existed and it was like high school all over again for me.

Embarking Design: Redesign

Today marks the beginning of Embarking Design's new and evolving look. Over the next few weeks, the design will be refined, buffed, and honed within an inch of its pixels.

We'll be trying out new ways of presenting content and new types of content to present. You might want to start by responding to the opening poll to help us set the direction for Embarking Design.
